This recipe was sent to us by the children (and staff) of Brimrod Nursery School, Rochdale, Lancs.
Orange and Raisin Cookies
150g plain flour
100g caster sugar
100g butter (softened)
l egg, beaten
2.5ml (½ tsp) baking powder
½ tsp salt
½ tsp vanilla essence
100g seedless raisins
15ml (1 tbl) grated orange rind
Preheat oven to 190°C/375°F/Mark 5
Grease 3 baking sheets
- Put everything except raisins and orange rind
into a large bowl and beat lightly with a wooden spoon.
- Stir in raisins and rind.
- Put dessertspoons of the mixture about 5cm apart on baking sheets.
- Bake for 15mins until golden brown.
- Cool on rack & EAT
